Originally inspired by a painting called “Morning Room” by Sonya Terpening, I am responsible for all aspects in this environment. At this point, my workflow has used a mixture of the following programs:
UE4, Maya 2016, Photoshop, zBrush, Substance Designer, Substance Painter, Marvelous Designer.
The scene focuses on creating mood and atmosphere through techniques such as balancing soft, organic cloths to hard-surface props as well as early-morning lighting that features soft blues/purples contrasted to light-oranges. For efficiency, unique textures for repetitive props such as books were atlased together.
For the cloth, I used a workflow starting with Marvelous Designer, into Maya and zBrush for retopologizing, and topped with subsurface and cloth shaders in UE4.
